Discovering the Clay Artistry of Kurt Ross

Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Asheville, North Carolina, Kurt Ross spins clay into stories, infusing each vessel with a touch of his architectural expertise and a dash of creative brilliance. His journey from Pasadena, California, to the tranquil suburbs of Asheville, is a tapestry woven with threads of inspiration, passion, and a lifelong love affair with craftsmanship.

Ross's affinity for ceramics blossomed unexpectedly during a pottery class with his daughter back in 2007. What began as a parental bonding opportunity swiftly transformed into a deep-seated passion, igniting a spark that would set him on a new creative path.

Drawing upon his roots in architectural design, Ross's ceramic pieces echo the principles of form, proportion, and movement. With each vessel, he orchestrates a symphony of shapes and textures, guided not just by tradition, but by the whims of inspiration. From the rugged silhouette of the San Gabriel Mountains to the bustling streets of Brooklyn, Ross's artistic journey is a testament to the transformative power of creativity.  His glazes, with their unpredictable nature, add a layer of complexity to each piece, creating a visual narrative that captivates the imagination.
