Body of Work
As shadows grow long and the veil grows thin, ArtsvilleUSA presents ‘Body of Work,’ an exhibition that bears witness to the joys and burdens of the corporeal body.
As shadows grow long and the veil grows thin, ArtsvilleUSA presents Body of Work, a gathering of forms both familiar and strange. This exhibition bears witness to the joys and burdens of the corporeal body, reflecting on what slips away and exalting what endures. Limbs reach out from the darkness, a single eye gleams, a red heart relents on an exhale. In these fragments, we find ourselves multiplied and undone, ablaze with the revelation that to be human is to be fleeting.
This exhibition is an ode to the exquisite and the macabre, to bodies broken down and reimagined, to the tender play between presence and absence, beauty and dissolution.
Body of Work features work by Alice Scott, Alison Chism, Bridget Fox, Emelie Weber Wade, Deborah Anderson, Jeffrey Burroughs, Katt Naz, Kit Paulson, Lisa Gluckin, Melanie Merenda, Michael Gates, Paul Watson, Sandy Love, Susan McDonough, and Tia Sculpt.
